O’Neill Transportation and Equipment was formed by Mike and Pat O’Neill in 2005 to provide demolition and hauling services in central Nebraska. Although we incorporated this business in 2005 our roots go much deeper.

In the mid 1960’s Russel O’Neill and his son Mike began a business doing small residential roofing and remodeling jobs. They would remove shingles and load them into the back of the station wagon by hand. Once they filled the wagon they drove to the landfill where they unloaded the station wagon by hand and then drove back to repeat the process. As they completed more and more jobs they formally incorporated O’Neill Construction. In the 1970’s they began moving houses and small commercial buildings.

The house moving business continued to grow throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s. O’Neill Construction moved 100’s of houses, small commercial buildings, tanks, and even train cars. In the late 1980’s asbestos began to be a concern. In 1988 Russ and Mike incorporated Enviro-Clean Contractors and began providing asbestos abatement services throughout Nebraska. In 1998 Mike O’Neill incorporated Environmental Direct, Inc after Russ O’Neill’s passing. EDI continued to provide asbestos services and branched into mold and lead as well. Pat O’Neill began working for ECC / EDI in 1995 and in 1998 formed Third Party Environmental.

Third Party Environmental provided asbestos air monitoring, materials testing and consulting services. As TPE continued to grow we added consulting for lead, mold, mercury, PCB’s, radioactive materials, and other industrial hygiene services. This deep background in hazardous materials and respiratory protection continues to be beneficial in today’s demolition environment. While running TPE Pat realized there was a large demand for a turn key demolition service. TPE began managing residential and commercial demolition projects from start to finish including asbestos inspections, abatement, demolition management, and environmental compliance documentation. This allowed owners a single contact point for their entire project. Third Party Environmental was sold in 2008.
